Oh my god, you guys, have you seen this? Have you ever wondered what 9 gigapixels of outer space looks like? Yes, that’s right, GIGApixels. I know you thought the camera on your iPhone 5 was pretty badass, but trust me, it’s not.
The European Southern Observatory has cataloged over 84 million stars from the middle of the Milky Way and combined them all in this one conveniently awesome photo. Because of our dirty, dirty planet, it’s really hard to get a good look at the center of the Milky Way, so they used an infrared telescope to cut through all our trash.
